Air pistol/rifle
is more than simply shooting tin cans and clothes pins of your youth. Actually it is an Olympic sport that is very
competitive world wide. You can start
out with a simple pistol or rifle and develop the skills. Adjustable sights are a must. Shooting at a 6 mm diameter black dot at 10
meters is quite a challenge—3mm diameter for rifle if you think that is easy.
And not just
for the young. Many shooters like it because
it is challenging, quiet and much cheaper.
In fact they often do it to improve other pistol/rifle shooting. The skills are 100% transferable.
No PAL
needed either. For the youth, it
develops respect for firearms, safety and personal discipline.
So dust off
your old break action or CO2 model and give it a try. Or go big and buy a high quality model with
their large self-contained compressed air or CO2 tanks—enough to
shoot an entire match without a drop in pressure.
With a simple retrieval
system, you only shoot 3 shots per target and replace with new without leaving
the firing line.
